When Mel retired from his career, he pursued his other passion full time, Archery. He was an accomplished Archer with a showcase of trophies and awards. His most notable achievements are the 2015 Senior Male Athlete of the Year by Archery Alberta and the Silver and Bronze medal placement in the National Indoor 3D Canadian Archery Championships. He started his company, Corbett Custom Scopes with great success and spent hours in his shop perfecting his products. He was well respected for his wealth of knowledge and loved helping his fellow archers and friends perfect their shots and tune their bows. Mel was an avid bowhunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed amusing his friends with his hilarious “one-liners” around the campfire.
